Braces are perfectly safe and issues are rare. Sometimes, however, there are minor issues that need to be addressed.
Please do not hesitate to call us for any reason. 804-282-0505
When you first get your braces or have just had an adjustment, a bit of sensitivity or soreness is normal. This just means that your braces are working, and is usually temporary. Most folks are fine taking whatever they would normally take for a headache to alleviate the pain. If it’s severe or lasts several days, please get in touch with us.
Ulcers can arise anytime, but they are especially prevalent during times of stress. Braces can make ulcers even more uncomfortable. First, try applying wax to the area. If the problem persists, please contact us and we will recommend other solutions.
If you’ve sustained an injury to your head, face or mouth, you should immediately go to an emergency room. If you have an infected or broken tooth, see your regular dentist first, and then visit us for any necessary repairs. Once your tooth is fixed, we’ll evaluate your personal treatment plan and get the ball rolling again.
